Bill Nelson (Secretary/Treasurer) - KL7RHJ -

Bill Nelson, KL7RHJ current Secretary/Treasurer of the Moosehorn Amateur Radio Club was first licensed in Oregon State as KN7RHJ in 1961. In 1962, passed the General test and became K7RHJ. Relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1972 and was issued call W0OPT. Moved to West Texas in 1982, then to Alaska in 1984, Michigan in 1987 and returned to Alaska in 1990. I was not very active for several years due to job relocations. Retired in 1999 and began to get involved in amateur radio again. In 2000 applied for vanity call sign, KL7RHJ and later that year upgraded to Extra Class. I am Interested in DX contacts, mainly CW but also phone. I am currently setting up my station to do PSK31. A member of the ARRL, FISTS CW Club, Anchorage Amateur Radio Club and Moosehorn Amateur Radio Club.

Originally hailing from Kansas, John moved to Alaska in the fall of 2006 from Florida after working as an engineer and scuba diving instructor. John is fairly new to HAM Radio, getting his license immediately before moving to Alaska. John acts as our webmaster, with interests in LED lights and collecting movies. John's brother-in-law, Mark Biernaki (another HAM whom encouraged John into the sport) genersouly donates server space to host the Moosehorn ARC website.
